APO is a French manufacturer of snowboards and skis. Founded by one the pioneer of snowboarding in Europe Régis Rolland in 2003, the company produces hardgear and softgear for snowboarders and skiers : snowboards, skis,snowboard bindings, technical outerwear and accesories. The company's headquarters are in Annecy, France. Still, it also has offices in Geneva and Portland, Oregon too.

In 2013, APO's snowboard line included twenty boards for freestyle, freeride and all-moutain practices for men, women and youth. Each of these categories has different level of prices and performance. APO invented in 2006 the dual entry binding system with the patented double-entry system to make the binding easier to fit[1]. In 2008, APO is the only one snowboard company to launch a range of skis [2]. In 2013, its ski line was made of fourteen skis for men, women and youth.

One ot the great pioneers and legends of snowboarding Régis Rolland founded APO in 2003. This skier discovered snowboarding with the Winterstick american crew who came in France for the lauching of Les Arcs ski resort. He featured in video series Apocalypse Snow in the early 1980's[3]. He shaped its first snowboards in 1983 and launched Apocalypse Surf in 1986. His first brand failed into failure so Régis created a new snowboard brand,A Snowboards in 1992. The Rossignol group buy A Snowboards in 2000 but at the end of the day sell it in 2003[4]. In June 1993, Régis Rolland founded APO snowboards, which became APO in 2008 when he decided to produce a range of skis[5].

Team riders[modifier | modifier le code]

In order to attract rider's interest, APO sponsors professional riders. The snowboard pro team includes Sage Kotsenburg, Eero Niemela, Spencer O'Brien, Anne-Flore Marxer, Gerome Mathieu and Tyler Chorlton. Pros Sammy Carlson, Kai Malher and Willie Borm form the APO ski pro team.
