The Imagined Village est un collectif d'artistes de musique traditionnelle fondé en 2004 par Simon Emmerson (en) et Afro Celt Sound System.

Description[modifier | modifier le code]

Le but du groupe est de produire une musique folklorique moderne représentative du multiculturalisme britannique. Collectif d’artistes de toutes nationalités, le premier album sort en 2007 chez Real World et s'intitule The Imagined Village E.P.. Le titre Cold, Hailey, Rainy Night obtient en 2008 le prix de la meilleure chanson traditionnelle aux BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Après avoir signé avec un nouveau label en 2009, ECC Record, le collectif sort son deuxième album, Empire & Love, en 2010. Il est suivi en 2012 par l'album Bending The Dark.
