Markoosie Patsauq (prononcé [maʁ.ku.si.pa.tsa.uk] en français; ᒫᑯᓯ ᐸᑦᓴᐅᖅ en inuktitut), est un écrivain inuit né à Inukjuak en 1942^[1].

On connait notamment Markoosie pour avoir écrit Le harpon du chasseur (ᐊᖑᓇᓱᑦᑎᐅᑉ ᓇᐅᒃᑯᑎᖓ), qui est le premier roman québécois inuit publié au pays^[2]. La version originale inuktitute de ce roman est parue pour la première fois en 1969 dans le bulletin autochtone Inuttituut. Ce livre est l'un des premiers romans québécois inuits à avoir été traduit en plus d'une langue. Il est d'abord traduit en anglais en 1970, sous le titre Harpoon of the hunter, puis en français en 2011. En 2014, on annonce aussi sa traduction en hindi et en marathi^[3].
